Lucio Bavelli was born near Milan, Italy. He began his training in leather work over 12 years ago in Florence–the city famous for its quality and tradition in the field. There he trained in workshops that made wallets and purses for some of Italy’s top designers. He soon began experimenting with his own designs, and has continued to do this after moving to the United States. For the past few years he has worked from his own shop in Baxter, Minnesota, creating leather goods for local customers and shipping them out around the country.
