Lucio Bavelli, a native of Torino, Italy, trained for several years as a leatherworker in Florence, the city famous for its quality and tradition in leather work. Along with much experimentation on his own, he soon aquired the skills to create his own designs. He's now working in the United States, bringing the Italian tradition of fine craftsmanship to this country.
From start to finish, Lucio personally creates each of his products by hand -- from calculating the design, cutting each piece of leather, splitting it to the right thickness, and then fitting and sewing each piece together. The final product is then buffed and shined and ready to be sent out into the marketplace.
Lucio makes a wide variety of products, including wallets, bags, and office-related items. All are crafted in a certain way as to avoid scars and imperfections. He's also very particular about the hardware he uses. In fact, he purchases some of his buckles and clasps directly from his favorite leather supplier in Florence.
